Last weekend Michelle Tietz, CEO of The Neighborhood Connection, joined forces with Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty Agents of Change to help build a home for a family in need.
The Agents of Change program was created to enable Realtors to make social impact through their work. When a Realtor becomes an Agent of Change, they donate part of the commissions from their real estate transactions to build homes for families living in slums.
Michelle joined Joel Tarquin and his family, as well as Carlos Gutierrez – Bella’s Build, to support their community building operations in Tijuana, Mexico. Both teams met in Chula Vista for orientation and were greeted there by Steve Games, Owner of Pacific Sothebys. From there both teams were taken via van to the Campus in Mexico where they separated and built two homes!

Agents of Change gives families hope and creates a movement of real social change. They make an immediate impact for families in need and leave a long-standing legacy that changes lives forever.
Michelle has always enjoyed volunteering in the past including her volunteer work at The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society in San Diego. She had an opportunity through her friend Joel Tarquin, who is a real estate agent, to participate in the Agents of Change program and jumped at the chance.
“The family we helped was located south of Tijuana in Baja Mexico. It’s very gratifying to know that our clients and real estate agents care so much about their local community and I can’t wait to help another agent with their cause!”
