How Max Folkers is Becoming Locally Famous

max folkers

Max Folkers was originally from Iowa and was a Navy Pilot. He became a tech sales agent and after moving to San Diego 16 years ago, he went into the real estate industry.

He services the San Diego Bay Park and Del Cerro markets. Recently, he became the number one real estate agent for Re/Max in San Diego. This to him was a very big deal as there are so many great agents at Re/Max.

Max Folkers is very grateful to his team, especially Hannah. She’s the one who does all the behind-the-scenes work, while he goes out to show properties. She’ll take property measurements, make copies of keys, or make sure all the paperwork is done.

He values his Midwestern work ethic. There’s just something that makes him wake up early, go to work, and treat people right. It just makes sense in any business you’re in that creates a recipe for success.

One thing that pushed Max to do real estate was he really enjoyed the mentoring and educational aspects. He finds real estate fulfilling because he gets to explain real estate and make his clients comfortable with the largest financial transaction in their life.

Bay Park is a place where no one ever leaves. Built in the 1950s, Max still knows original owners from the neighborhood. They are in their 90s and they never leave.

Even when they retire, downsize, or pass away the property goes to their families. It’s when THEY decide they want to downsize, that’s when things free up in Bay Park.

The turnovers aren’t there, but they are seeing a big evolution. The schools have been reinvigorated because there are new young families moving in and building businesses.

The area has lots of great restaurants like Luce, Benchmark Brewing, and Poseidon Project. There are also some old-school places like Baci, Old Trieste, High Dive, and the Bay Park Fish Company. These are all within a block of Max’s office.

The market is very hot in San Diego.  The tough part in this is each listing closes so quickly within a week of it being listed! One advantage Max has is he gets a call from other agents if someone is planning to list a home in the area. He knows the market is shifting, but Bay Park is still bucking the trend.

He and his team love to have fun by hosting movie nights and parties in their spacious 1500 Sq. Ft. office, which is also open to the community. He also holds fundraisers there. Their setup is for them to be a community destination. For Max, it doesn’t have to always be about real estate.

TNC has been a great resource for Max and his team. It’s a unique way and a bit of a throwback to the days of the good old fashion print which makes him quite “famous” to the locals. TNC makes it easy for Max Folkers and his team despite their busy schedule.
